Description of our Group Tour: Granada, Seville and Cordoba 2 days
Join our group tour and discover three of southern Spain’s most monumental cities with the convenience of professional organization. From Madrid, we’ll travel by high-speed train to Granada, Seville, and Cordoba, accompanied by an expert guide who will reveal the historical and cultural secrets of each destination. Entrance fees to the monuments are included, as is accommodation in Seville, ensuring a worry-free and enriching experience.
Day 1: The Alhambra in Granada and train transfer to Seville
We begin our day traveling from Madrid station on the high-speed train to Granada, crossing the Castilian plains until we reach the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Upon arrival, we enter the monumental complex of the Alhambra, one of the greatest jewels of world heritage. Accompanied by a specialized guide, we will explore the Nasrid Palaces, the Court of the Lions, the Hall of the Ambassadors, and the Palace of Charles V, an emblem of the Renaissance.
We continue our visit to the Generalife, the summer gardens of the sultans, where architecture and nature blend in an environment of harmony and beauty. From its terraces, we will enjoy spectacular views of the Alhambra complex and the city of Granada. Within the same grounds, we will visit the Alhambra Museum, which houses a valuable collection of Nasrid art.
Next, we will take a break for lunch on your own in the city centre, with the possibility of tasting typical Andalusian dishes in a traditional setting.
After lunch, we will end our visit with the Granada Cathedral, a symbol of the transition to the Renaissance in Spain, where its imposing facade, the Main Chapel and its ornate side chapels stand out.
Once the tour is over, we’ll head to the station to catch the high-speed train to Seville. Upon arrival, we’ll check into a centrally located hotel, perfect for relaxing or enjoying Seville’s atmosphere in the afternoon.
Day 2: Monumental Seville and historic Cordoba (both connected by AVE high-speed train)
After breakfast, we begin the day with a 6-hour guided tour of Seville, exploring its historic center on foot. Our first stop will be Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world, where we will discover the tomb of Christopher Columbus and climb the Giralda, the ancient Almohad minaret with one of the best panoramic views of the city.
We continue to the Royal Alcázar, the oldest royal palace still in use in Europe, where centuries of history intertwine through Mudéjar, Gothic, and Renaissance art. We explore the gardens, the Courtyard of the Maidens, and the Hall of the Ambassadors.
Then we ventured into the charming Santa Cruz neighborhood, with its alleyways, hidden squares, and flower-filled patios. We ended the morning with a visit to the Metropol Parasol (Las Setas de Sevilla), a modern structure offering panoramic views of the city.
After lunch (at your leisure), we’ll head to the station to board the high-speed train to Córdoba. Upon arrival, we’ll enjoy a three-hour guided tour of the most important monuments in this ancient city.
We begin at the Mosque-Cathedral, one of the architectural wonders of the world, where Islamic and Christian heritage coexist. We will stroll among its endless columns, its impressive mihrab, and the Renaissance structure added after the Reconquista.
We’ll continue towards the Roman Bridge, the Bridge Gate, and the Calahorra Tower, which offer unbeatable views of the Guadalquivir River and the Córdoba skyline. We’ll finish in the historic Jewish Quarter, where we’ll visit the old synagogue and the artisan market.
After this last visit, we will return to Madrid by high-speed train, concluding an unforgettable journey through art, history and the essence of Andalusia.
