This tour is designed for those who want to discover the best of Andalusia independently, without following a group or depending on guided schedules. From Madrid, you’ll travel through Granada, Seville, and Cordoba by high-speed train, with accommodation included and pre-booked tickets to the main monuments. You manage your own time, but you’ll have guaranteed access to iconic sites such as the Alhambra, the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, the Royal Alcazar of Seville, and other must-see attractions.
Day 1: The Alhambra in Granada and train transfer to Seville
The day begins with a high-speed train journey from Madrid to Granada , a comfortable trip that will allow you to enjoy the scenery before arriving in this gem of southern Spain. Upon arrival, you’ll have the entire day to explore the city at your own pace.
You will have reserved tickets to visit the Alhambra monumental complex on your own, including the Nasrid Palaces, the Court of the Lions, the Hall of the Ambassadors and the Palace of Charles V. You will also have access to the Generalife, the summer gardens of the sultans, and the Alhambra Museum, where a valuable collection of Nasrid art is kept.
Next, you’ll have free time for lunch in the center of Granada, and in the afternoon, you can visit Granada Cathedral, one of the great jewels of the Spanish Renaissance, on your own. Your entrance fee is included.
At the end of the day, you’ll take the high-speed train to Seville. Upon arrival, you’ll stay in a centrally located hotel, ideal for relaxing or enjoying the city at your own pace in the evening.
Day 2: Monumental Seville and historic Cordoba (both connected by AVE high-speed train)
After breakfast, you’ll have the morning free to explore Seville at your leisure. With pre-booked tickets, you can go directly to Seville Cathedral and climb the Giralda for a panoramic view of the city. You can also visit the Royal Alcázar, with its historic halls and lush gardens. We recommend exploring the Santa Cruz neighborhood and, if you wish, visiting the Metropol Parasol (Las Setas de Sevilla) for a modern perspective of the city.
After lunch on your own, you’ll take the train to Córdoba, where you’ll enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. Entrance to the Mosque-Cathedral, an architectural marvel that blends Islamic and Christian history, is included. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore the Roman Bridge, the Puerta del Puente (Bridge Gate), the Calahorra Tower, and wander through the streets of the Jewish Quarter, visiting the synagogue and the artisan market.
At the end of the day, you will return to Madrid by high-speed train, thus concluding two intense days of free exploration through some of the most fascinating cities in southern Spain.
