Jaravía is the key stop. In September 2026, Renfe’s C-2 line between Murcia and Águilas is being operated by road replacement services due to infrastructure works.
Pick-up from your hotel, apartment, airport or agreed point, with arrival coordinated with your Mina Rica time slot.
Useful if you arrive in Pulpí, Jaravía, Águilas or San Juan de los Terreros by public transport and need to complete the final leg.
How to Drive to Mina Rica and the Pulpí Geode
The main route for longer-distance access is the A-7, Autovía del Mediterráneo. Depending on the direction you are coming from, exits signposted for Pulpí–Cuevas de Almanzora or Huércal-Overa Norte–Pulpí allow you to leave the motorway and continue on local roads toward Pilar de Jaravía.
From Murcia and Alicante
The usual route heads toward Lorca and the A-7 corridor before turning off toward Pulpí and Pilar de Jaravía.
From Almería and Granada
Use the A-7 corridor toward the eastern Almería coast and then follow the signposted access toward Pulpí.
Last mile
Once in the area, follow signs toward Pilar de Jaravía and use Mina Rica as your final destination, not central Pulpí.
How to Get to the Pulpí Geode by Public Transport
The most useful public transport stop is Jaravía, in Pilar de Jaravía. However, the C-2 rail service is affected by infrastructure works and, as of September 2026, Renfe is operating a road replacement plan between Murcia, Lorca and Águilas, including a stop at Jaravía.
The usual route includes Murcia del Carmen, Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, Almendricos, Pulpí, Jaravía and Águilas. At present, part of the service is operated by Renfe replacement buses. Timetables should be checked for your specific travel date.
When checking Renfe timetables, use Jaravía as your destination. Once there, check in advance how you will complete the final leg to Mina Rica, especially if you have a fixed entry time.
Access to the Geode is scheduled by time slot. Public transport may change because of the current works, so it is advisable to leave enough margin or consider a transfer for the final leg.
